Well, of course it's good, because it's Hadouken! remixing an already fantastic The Whip song. So, as usual, this track has already made the rounds of some blogs, but to make absolute sure, that everyone knows the true promise of The Black Ghosts' new song I Want Nothing remixed by Frankmusik, I'll upload it anyway. I Want Nothing will be out in the next few days, on April 28th to be precise and is the first single to be taken from their forthcoming debut album. Even better, the debut album has already a release date, namely the end of June. So stay optimisitic my friends that the record really drops at the end of June via Southern Fried Records and in the meantime, purchase I Want Nothing by clicking this.

I wasn't quite sure wether to post this remix or not. I'm not a big fan of Muse remixes, mostly because the result turns out to sound distorted and just.. wrong. Since I'm a huge Muse fan, I always feel as though the magic within the songs vanishes, when remixed. Nevertheless, the Does It Offend You, Yeah? remix of Map Of The Problematique isn't half bad, so:

Next Bipolar Badwise from Melbourne make cool synth electro. They were formerly known as industrial based TNB, but changed name and genre in 2006 to make really nice electro. You can also listen to more songs on their myspace or on Triple J Unearthed. As far as I can see, there is no release coming up, but if I were you, I'd check on their myspace every now and then.

Let me tell you about Fan-Tan: They're hailing from North Carolina, but are now based in New York City. I'd describe their music as experimental indie rock. They've just had an EP out called Bars In Windows. If you like what you hear, please go here for any further information.

So, Swedish The Sweet Serenades really do make sweet indie pop music and call their music "testosterone pop". I Can Never Die remind me of a softer, Swedish version of Los Campesinos! and as Los Campesinos! are awesome, you can think your part. They've released their second EP called First Taste and have their debut album in recording which is scheduled for later this year. You can get their EP by either hopping over to iTunes or CD Baby.

The Satin Peaches remind me of some bands, whose name I just can't come up with. I know it's also a cool indie pop band... if there were a machine which would take my thoughts and then put it into words or music and find me a perfect match, that'd be so cool. Anyway, as already said, The Satin Peaches are a cool indie band from Detroit and just signed to Island Records in the UK. After their single Well Well Well Well in 2007, they're putting out an album later this year. If you're interested, go watch The Satin Peaches TV on their website for updates.

I don't like celine dion

this is a fact.
Celine Dion is just awful, her music is disturbing and she probably is also a very disturbing person. The world would be so much better of without her. I mean, in the music scene, of course, I don't want her to die, I'm not a hateful person.
But there are so many things, that I hate in this world, like: cyclists, parking tickets, cyclists who take in the whole street while I'm driving a car, people who make a fuss about parking tickets, spiders, daft politicians(uhh), plastic spoons, joghurt that has small pieces of fruit in it and most of all, people who talk very slowly and gesturing pretty wildly.
No thanks, I can perfectly understand you, there's no need to hit my face with your smelly fingers or to imitate a horse galloping, if you're trying to explain the meaning of a race. Not for me, no, no and if you could speed up your language a bit, that'd be excellent, because I don't have time for you to analyse, why the weather is so crappy or your politicians are so daft and incompetent, for I know that pretty well, just tell me the danmn time in three seconds or faster, sir. Thank you, even though I could have said everything you expressed like ten times faster.
These things drive me nuts, even more than the simple being of Celine Dion - oh wait, no, Celine Dion is unbearable.

Damn Right!

here I am again, back with another mix for your ears, this time with a special topic I thought of. Lately I noticed in my iTunes library, that I listened to a lot of albums and quite recent, but missed out one song of each album. I mean, when you really like an album or just can't stop listening to it, but there is always one song on it, whose-excuse for the lame example- the acne driven bass player- alright, but wouldn't have noticed it if he would have hidden somewhere. Alright, no offence against bass players, but still to draw the right image by using too many words as usual: most albums have exactly one song which could aswell have served as a hidden track or a b-side and you could as well go on listening and skip the song when ever it comes up.
So I've searched my iTunes to find some albums mostly from the last two years which I've listened till the music came floating out of my ears and picked the songs that I didn't care much for, but which are great nonetheless.
The whole reason behind is to set my mind on it, maybe fall in love with them afterall and it's different from all those b-sides, rareties mixes.
Oh and yes, I find it rather interesting, that the following mix just perfectly matches my blog name corresponding to an indie club night - and I don't care if the songs are coming from 'mainstream' indie bands such as Razorlight or Franz Ferdinand. I liked their records, that's it.

tastes like revival

yes, when it comes to post titels, I get very creative. But it has at least a little bit of truth in it. Revival means for me, rediscovering music, that I haven't heard for some years, it's geniality and then wondering, why I didn't clean up my room earlier, which led to several fantastic discoveries.
Recently, I managed three Radiohead albums(Kid A, OK Computer and Amnesiac) in only a short period of time, which is a record, for me. I've never listened that much to Radiohead, which is due to Thom Yorke's voice. Well, nothing's wrong with his voice, it's nice, though it's highly visible and hearable similairity to Muse's Matthew Bellamy did distract me whenever I put Radiohead on. Of course, the discussion should be clear, Matt's voice is a Thom Yorke sound alike, but, here in my little indiedancefloor-world, Muse(of which I'm a huge fan) came before Radiohead. Apparently, the resemblance of those two great musicians is only accusticly and not visual.

Oh well, back to the topic: To make a long story short, this week has been full of musical revivals. From Radiohead to The Beatles and The Kinks, up to downtempo electro band Modeselektor, of whom should be the talk today.


I'm not quite sure, if this name is a known issue, so I'll just give a short description: Modeselektor, formed by two Germans(yes, German!)Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, creating their own nishe by remixing and being remixed by a variety of artists. My own connection to Modeselektor leads back to summer 06 in cannes, France, where my friend and I saw them on Pantiero Festival, opening up for Dizzee Rascal and TTC on the second festival day. We even met those really nice guys after their show(in which they claimed, with a very bad german accent, that they're from London) and had a nice chat unmasking their little lie. Anyway, supporting the remix/being remixed theory, I have some mp3s for you.

I've done some research also for indie rock group Hot Club de Paris. Their name was in my ear for quite some time and I couldn't get myself up to google them or else until this day. and now? Well, I must say, I'm not blown away, but the band from the Mersey-stricken Liverpool(see, the Beatles reference) has quite a nice groove. Their debut album Drop It 'Til It Pops, released via Roughtrade in January(yeah, so what if I'm late?), also features following two songs:
