So, I figured out, that The Cribs deserve their own honoration post, because I recently rediscovered my love for them and their fantastic indie pop rock whatever songs. Well, maybe love was a bit strong, because I've only had one song, but hat song was nearly listened to death by me and my iTunes.
Plus, they're coming to Rock am Ring(where I will surely also be), so this new rising is somehow still paying off.
To celebrate this, I searched for some mp3s(yeah, no big deal, I know, but still) and listed my favourite songs:
The Cribs - Martell The Cribs - Hey Scenesters The Cribs - It was only love The Cribs - Mirror Kissers The Cribs - Baby Don't Sweat The Cribs - Another Number---> link expired
otherwise have a looke here.
I actually wanted to post a video, but blogspot does somehow not want to accept my videos.
So, I'll just post the link to their video for "Mirror Kissers".
here you go.

yes, I'm finished. It's hard to believe, but yeah, I'm done. with. my.exams.yippie.
I've written my last exam in French this morning, and, as I predicted, didn't do anything for it. I really mean, nothing. Didn't learn, didn't even look at some of the stuff. Did I regret it today? No, not much.
It's over anyway. Now I can set my mind on other, 'important' stuff. haha.
As promised, I'll put on a new compilation, because they're somehow growing over my head and I don't want to lose the overview.

I should keep the playlists shorter.maybe next time.
and because I'm one of the secret NME admirers( yes, definitely, but don't tell) I checked out their new cover band, called The Twang. Sounds fine to me, a bit between U2 and The Feeling mixed with a tiny bit of Editors, nothing new, but not bad either.
well, I found some mp3s, but one can also listen to some of their songs on their site and of course their myspace page.
The Twang - Wide Awake
The Twang - Cloudy Room

-->The Dead Bohemes
says the Kulturpalast description.
My opinion: Yeah, somehow, they're right. The Dead Bohemes, do sound similar to my favourite band. Somehow, Germany itself managed to give the indie-scene an excellent rock band. Hard to believe, because Germany, from my point of view, can barely win an award concerning good indie-bands(excluding The Robocop Kraus, of course). Well, the quality of their songs on myspace isn't the best, but I'll look for something better on the internet, as soon as the A-Level will be over(Tomorrow!!!). However, I like the indifference, that the songs display, especially the voice, just likeThe Strokes have in theirs. Of course, this new band cannot reach up to the worlds-best rock band(yeah, they are!), but one has to see the things a bit more optimistic.
I think, this will be fine for a live gig.
This can only be a good sign, because them plus three other bands will be coming to Wiesbaden in about three weeks to the Fastbreak Festival II in April, 14th(-> see Live Eventualities).
Seems like another opportunity to spend the money, that i actually don't have, but can't hold me back to not give it to poor, little indie-bands.
yeah, I'm really looking forward to them.
anyway, I have a new compilation, I'm mixing my playlists lately, so tomorrow there'll be a 'new' one, too, I guess.

I put up a new side element, called "Live eventualities", listing concerts, that have my maybe/possibly factor. Means: Concerts, I could probably go to, but am not quite sure about it, due to several reasons: No money, money not worth it, haven't thought about it yet,to far away, etc
Main reason was, that I didn't want to spend eacht time I see a cool concert date, a new post on it.
But still, as I was looking through the tour dates, I discovered "Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin" play in Wiesbaden. This is sooo cool, I can't describe it. I think, if I can convince my friend, this will be a set-date.
They deserve their own post, somehow.

But one of them is hot.
Kings Of Leon are coming!!
For some reason, that excites me, even though I somnehow refused to listen to their songs so far. I have some mp3s on this PC, but... I dunno.
Still, they're coming to Cologne, on July, the 2nd.
Place: E-Werk, Cologne
Tickets: ca 31 € (pretty expensive, I think)
Chance to go: we'll see
I have that akward wish, to buy myself a ticket and see them, but I dunno why. I've never really listened to them. Maybe, I should get their albums first, before I do something, I'll regret later. They're having an album coming out soon, called "Because of the times" or something like that.
I mean, 31€ is a bit heavy, innit?
I'll think about it.
Definitely a plus.
well, I made a new compilation, from which I thought, I could publish it today. Feel kinda bored, still some hours, before I go out and get drunk. The politics would call it coma drinking. I'd rather call it weekend activity.
When I'm referring to the word "discovered" means, I discovered a band for me, and really just for me. Because, in most of the cases, everybody else, with a decent taste in music, already knows the bands for ages and I'm just the late one. But I don't care. I don't claim myself as a trenspotter or even trendsetter.
Anyway, this time, I decided to follow some recommandations, last.fm did for me, and I have to admit, they did a good job.
Here's the set:
- Animal Collective - Grass
- Animal Collective - The Softest Voice
- Architecture In Helsinki - Do The Whirlwind
- Be Your Own Pet - Adventure
- Deerhoof - Twin Killers
- Deerhoof - Spirit Ditties Of No Tone
- Devendra Banhart - I Just feel Like A Child
- The Fiery Furnaces - Here Comes The Summer
- The Ponys - Truble Trouble
- Sufjan Stevens - Chicago
- Wolf Parade - Shine A Light
- Wolf Parade - Dear Sons And Daughters Of Hungry Ghosts
So, I'll head quickly to the mall, have to get some beer for tonight.

Something really wonderful has happened. I just discovered the new Arctic Monkey's song on myspace. Yeah, probably I'm the very last person in indie-world who now knows about the song, but what do I care about others? I'm happy now.
So, it's called "Brianstorm", one can find it here, it's my new baby and I love it.
Arctic Monkeys were next to The Strokes one of my favourite bands of 06 and I guess, they will stay that for 07. Even thoughI know every single word of their songs on the debut album, I still listen to it, call me an addict.
That's actually all.
Just had to show my excitement.

to Wiesbaden in October. On the 22nd.Two Days before my birthday. Says this here.
This would be a really nice chance to see them again, because I adore their debut album "A Certain Trigger" and I'll surely love their new album, too. Plus, Wiesbaden is really close from my hometown, only 30 minutes away.
But(yes, there's always a but) as I'm planning my future(haha) I want to get away from here as soon as possible and the thought of being still kept here in October gets me depressed.
enough now to talk a bit of Friday. I still have issues to manage my life now without any mathematic problems to solve. My dreams contain vectorial questions mixed with surreal situations concerning all day life. Anyway, I've never learned so much in my life for any mathematic test whatsoever and did it have any sense? No, stupid A-Level. On Thursday, I actually thought I had the slightest chance to reach the 7 Point limit, but Karin Wolff didn't grant me that pleasure. I was really confident on Thursday, no nervous breakdown, no suicide attempts, nothing of that level. But then, Friday, oh my. We had to choose between two Analysis assignments and also one assignment for stochastics and analytic geometry. Analysis was ok,even though it took me forever to solve it and I had to guess a lot, stochastics was fine, maybe I got everything right(that's what you call positive thinking to prevent upcoming nervous breakdowns). So I had only half an hour left(all in all, we had 3 hours, which is definitely not enough, if you're thinking so slowly like me) for analytic geomtry. I looked at the first task and started to cry. No, seriously, I cried. After some minutes I calmed down, managed to calculate a bit, but this analytic geometry was my enemy from the beginning. The assignment had about 5 subtasks and I only made 1 and a half of them, probably all wrong.
Well, I feel depression rising again, so I should head up to my room and start learning English for Tuesday.
Enough for today, I guess.
Maybe I'll take some pics of my desk before I'll throw away all my maths stuff. I'll see.
Friday, 16 March 2007
yet. I survived the maths A-Level, but the day isn't over yet.
I don't wanna lose any words to the test, I already did and I don't want to get depressed. Again.
Anyway, wanted to show some pitchas:
that's what I would call a unorganized working space-or a bed:
from another point of view-there is still some place left to sleep
Due to the calculator, which I didn't place there by purpose, you can see that I am a very mathematic person.
Well, anyway, half of my Cds- the copied ones, not the originals- I actually have made some really nice covers for some of them. I'll shoot some pics of them tomorrow.
I'll go to bed, because I have a headache, caused by alcohol this afternoon.
Monday, 12 March 2007
Cool band, definitely. Saw them last Thursday in Wiesbaden and they did a really nice show, evem though the played a little too short. I love their song "Low Mode", which I also have on my myspace page. They even have a nice video for that song:
Anyway, concerning youtube, I'm still in the search of that Family Guy scene, where Stewie disses Meg at the breakfast table. It was part of a Family Gy compilation , called something like "Meg owned" or "Poor Megan Griffin".It was really funny, that's why it's pissing me so off I cam't find it.
well, I have to go back and learn.
yeah, that's right, I made it to 6points in the last maths test, which was truly my last maths test in my whole life, not regarding the math A level exam. But that is no normal text, it's absolutely "El Horror!". I was very close to a panic attack this morning during German lesson and I had a freak out later this afternoon as not being able to solve simple math questions. I even cired. Imagine that. Cried because of mathematics. I'm convinced, that on this Friday, the world will end. And if not, I surely aim for making March, 17th as the new easter, the national day of resurrechtion. This is in no way exaggerated, because if I won't die during the exam, I'll die from the alcohol I'll pour into my body right after the test.
Well, I have to stop this topic, before it drives me into another panic attack. I actually wanted to celebrate a little bit of my rather good math grade, but somehow I can't enjoy it, because the thought of Fridays weighs it all down.
I even feel guilty for not learning right now, but I needed a small break, 'cause I couldn't concentrate anymore. Tomorrow'll be a heavy day, too, I'll wag Biology to learn math(4 hours) and then again maths lessons and then come home at three pm to learn maths again. I guess, 'normal thinking people' would be thinking, that this is fairly enough maths to be well prepaired, but no. I still come to think, that I absolutely know nothing. Sad, yeah.
I have to go back to my desk and maths books.
Yay. fun, fun, fun.
Probably won't sleep tonight.
never mind, my life ends in 4 days anyway, so who needs sleep?
Sunday, 11 March 2007
Forgot to add, that I managed to listen to half of Bloc Party's latest album "Weekend in the City", which is so far, fine to me. I'll hope, it can stand up to the standards, that have been put up with their debut album "Silent Alarm", which I loved. I even went to a concert of Bloc Party, in 2005. Cool, though.
Check it out(aww, bad quotation).
Have a nice Sunday
...Changing weather...somehow. Oh, I absolutely love quoting band lyrics, even though considering the fact, that nobody but me understands them. Never mind. I'm trying to keep myself from cleaning the house and learning maths. But my parents are coming back in a couple of hours, so I'll be forced to stay in my room and so I'll take that opportunity to learn. Until then, I'll just waste my time with making ridiculous posts on the internet. Exactly like this one.
Anyway, I think, I might put only link to bands from myspace, because if really somebody finds this blog(haha) and has the eager need to look up one of the bands, myspace is the easiest way to get the best impressions of the band. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a super fan of myspace(even though I also have a page), but I'm not so into mp3-sites with uploading your music and so on(means extra work for me). So I'll just stay with myspace, to prefer the lazier side of life.
I also decided to show a bit of my life, as far as possible, I guess. I still have some time, until the ultimate liberty is over and my parents return. So, first, my ridiculously overcrowded wall of my room:
This is my car"Ingo"(yeah, it has a name, but I still have tobaptize it on that name). I'm abolutely into giving dead things stupid male names. I have a bag which is named Arne and travelled last summer trough France with me.I've come to the decision to show a picture of him, too. Well, Ingo first:
I got him as a Christmas present, because my old car(stress the word old!) couldn't get me from point A to point B(says the law, I personally think, it was fine) and had to be brought to the car cementry. So, my parents bought me a new one and here it is. My friend Isa and I also beautified our cars(she also bought herself a car) with stickers from Bromheads Jacket and Goose, both bands we visited their concerts together. Nice, innit? Ah yeah, my lovely bag, who accompanied me throughout last year(vacation, festivals, school holidays):
Anyway, I'm listening to the second playlist, that I made for me and my new musical progress yesterday evening. I'm so kind to write it down now:
- Belle&Sebastian - The Blues Are Still Blue
- Broken Social Scene - Lover's Spit
- Cansei de Ser Sexy - Madonna Dos Infernos
- Cat Power - Could We
- Danielson - Did I Step On Your Trumpet
- Guillemots - We're Here
- Larrikin Love - Happy As Annie
- Marc Collin - In A Manner Of Speaking
- Peter Bjorn And John - Young Folks
- Sebadoh - On Fire
- Someone Stille Loves You Boris Yeltsin - Oregon Girl
- Tapes 'n Tapes - Insistor
- Yo La Tengo - Today Is The day
I have to end this post, because I'm tired. It's still mid of the day, but I already did some sports today and I have to go learn maths, if I want to reach the 5point minimum in the A Levels.
Saturday, 10 March 2007
so maybe I should be starting now with recent music, supporting my blog name.
I made a new playlist for my iTunes player, called "Faily New Mmmusic", listing newly downloaded music, that I always wanted to hear, but for some reasons never did. So I thought, I should let the world have a part in that, too. Anyway, I'm not learning for the A level tonight anymore, so why not. So far, I absolutely like The Long Blondes, Cansei de Ser Sexy and Whitest Boy Alive, but I'm not through yet, I'll tell tomorrow. As I'm thinking, I really wanted to listen to more new music, since I'v gotten so fixed on The Strokes last year, which is not a bad thing, but there need to be more in music then only The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys. Lately I (re)discovered Mando Diao's latest album "Ode To Ochrasy", that I ignored for some unknown reasons, from the day I got it until last week. Yeah, strange actions like these appear somehow very often, I ignore some band or a band's new album due to several reason(too popular, rather bad single, bad or too good critics, and so on) and then after some time and self-struggeling, I finally listen to it and absolutely LOVE it. Simple examples: The Strokes, The Kooks, Mando Diao(as mentioned above) and many more. So I'm trying to prevent that with downloading every bit of music and then listen to it without any prejudices. As open minded, I'm sure just to be so free- kinda. Muse are just saying the right words with the right sense in exactly the right moment. As I keep hearing the music coming from my new playlist, I also prefer Head Automatica, especially their song "Beating Heart Baby" which I got from my friend Isa, who made me a real cool CD containing Bloc Party's new album A Weekend In The City, TCTC, Brand New, etc.
I see now, that this post is taking me forever, but I simply seem to drift away as looking at the bands I listed so far. I could now start with stories about Bloc Party, but I need to go to bed soon, so I can learn at least a bit of Maths tomorrow. I just have to force myself. Anyway, i should be ending this post now, because I don't want to sit that long on The PC anymore.
So, here's the Playlist Vol.1:
- Beirut - Postcards From Italy
- Belle And Sebastian - Get me Away From here, I'm dying
- CSS - Meeting Paris Hilton
- Cold war Kids - Hang Me Up To Dry
- Danielson - Did I Step on Your trumpet
- The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger
- Head Automatica - Beating Heart Baby
- The Long Blondes - Once And Never Again
- Marc Colline - Just Can't Get enough
- New Young Pony Club - Ice Cream
- Ratatat - Wildcat
- Ratatat - Seventeen Years
- Tegan and Sarah - My Number
- Union Of Knives - Evil Has Never
- Union Of Knives - Opposite Direction
- The Whitest Boy Alive
So, I'll do some diting on my myspace page(see here if interested) and then I'll be heading straight to bed.
yeah, starting a new blog with that painful thought that I actually should be doing somethin else: Learning, studying my maths books. I guess, this should be considered as a bad sign, foreshadowing my new blog future. I dunno.
Anyway, I should be learning, because it's only 6 days away and I'm still not prepared for it. In my mind, thoughts are circeling about what alcohol I should buy to get drunk the fastest and the worst right after the (first!!!) exam. Maybe vodka mixed with passion fruit. That definitely sounds seducing- to me.
So, I'm leaving my new baby.
